New Update: Maps & Direction for Events

Event day just got a little more pleasant with this new update! For events where you need to be at different locations throughout the day, you can now enter all location information, with addresses and the times you need to be at each location.

We think this will really help with planning event days better and optimize travel routes. When working with a team or second shooter, all the information is also right there for them!

New Feature: Task Assignments

If you’re working with an assistant or a second shooter, knowing individual responsibilities is crucial for client work being delivered on time.

We’re happy to announce one of our most requested features: Task assignment. You can now assign tasks to another team member in fotoClient.

In addition, we also improved filtering in tasks. Stay focused by showing only tasks assigned to you, just the tasks due this week, or you might want to see a comprehensive list of all tasks.

By default, all the tasks are sorted by due date and the overview graph still shows a useful overview of how long each task will take to complete.

This update empowers  your whole team be more productive and focused on your 2016 business goals.

New: Track new business with customizable lead sources

A couple weeks ago, we launched the new version of fotoClient. It’s gotten great feedback and we couldn’t be more thrilled! But we’re not the type to sit still. We’ve been hard at work over the holiday season on some great new features and also spent time polishing up Lead Sources.

Lead sources are the primary way that a client found your business. For a while now, the default Lead Sources was Facebook, Instagram, Networking, Twitter, and Website. This might have worked for the majority of users but we needed and wanted to improve it.

Today we’re excited to announce that we’re rolling out the ability to customize your lead sources. So what’s new?

Customizable Lead Sources

First, we made the lead sources completely flexible. You now have the freedom to add and remove lead sources that no longer apply or you aren’t interested in tracking. There is no limit on how many Lead Sources you can create.

Effectively Track Word of Mouth

Second, when you select a Word of Mouth as a lead source, you now have the option to create the contact profile for the source. Word of Mouth is still the most trusted form of marketing. We believe this will provide the most accurate insight about who is sending you business.

We think the added flexibility of customizable Lead Sources and tracking Word of Mouth sources will be useful for a lot of folks. Let us know what you think on twitter (@fotoclient) or send us an email (

Introducing the new fotoClient

A little background.

For almost  a year, we have been hard at work rebuilding fotoClient from the ground up. Today, we are thrilled to share with you what we’ve built.

I first built fotoClient to help me with my own photography business. As my business grew, I was suffering the growing pains, spending more time managing the business than actually being creative. I quickly realized I needed a solution to help me.

Today, the fotoClient community is made up of thousands of photography professionals in more than 100 countries. The feedback we receive actively directs our roadmap. Through listening to our community, we realized that our current platform has limitations that would make it difficult for  us to build new features or implement improvements at the pace we wanted.  After careful consideration, we decided our best option was to rebuild the product completely. The release of fotoClient 2.0 is a huge leap forward, and we think you’ll love it.

Faster, Improved User Experience and New Features.

fotoClient now looks amazing and consistent across mobile, tablet, and desktop platforms. The mobile version and desktop version are now the same app, so switching between the two is seamless. We also did a full redesign, carefully considering everything from ease-of-use to, mobile usability, all through a purposefully minimalist style

Revamped Dashboard.

The dashboards gives you  a quick snapshot of your business. Now when you start your day, you quickly see what leads require your attention, events that are around the corner, tasks that need your immediate action and even the current standing of your annual income.dashboard

Redesigned Tasks Overview.

The Tasks overview page gives clarity on what to work on next and how long it will take. Tasks can now be attached to an event, lead, contact, or be a standalone item.

New feature: Create and Send Invoice.

Sending an invoice to get paid is probably the most important function in your business. This was one of our most requested features, and we’re so excited to be able to include it as part of this rollout.

New Feature: Reports.

Having useful and correct information is key in helping you make decisions that are crucial to the success of your business. We created reports to allow you to pull information from all of the data you enter into fotoClient.

More to Come.

Our goal at fotoClient is to help you capture more, which is why we decided to go beyond a quick polish and reconstruct the bones of the product. fotoClient is now even faster, mobile responsive, and with a redesign core, you will start seeing us implementing new features rapidly. We can’t wait for you to check it out. As always, let us know what you think about these changes by sending us your feedback at Questions, thoughts, concerns and ideas are always welcomed.

Thanks for joining us on this journey!
